Ecocentrism being a holistic approach to value the entire biotic and abiotic components of an ecosystem, the term ecology and wildlife conservation is widely known for the branch of ecology that deals with the conservation, preservation and management of natural resources. The ecosystem or the nature provides ample benefits and services to mankind. Therefore, with increased population pressure and demand for resources most of the entire ecosystem is under threat. Major causes for threats are habitat fragmentation, overexploitation, land degradation, pollution, climate change etc. IUCN has estimated about 27,000 species are at risk for extinction. To address these issues CSDR works for nature conservation with an ecosystem based approach to restore wildlife habitat, land degradation, biodiversity loss, food shortage and augment the biological resources upon which local communities are dependent.
